Labor Day Weekend - Monday at the Fair

Aaron came home from his fishing/hunting trip Sunday night, so Monday morning we headed to the fair.

The kids always love seeing, and petting, all the animals.
 Goats
 Pigs
 Lots of different sheep

 and cute bunnies!
We packed some PBJ's for lunch and ate while we watched the 4H goat judging.  The little goats and young kids showing them were both pretty cute.

The kids had fun "milking" this cow and then they were given a milk box to drink.

We stopped for a bit to eat our free popcorn and listen to an amateur country singer and band.  They were pretty good.
Then on to the petting zoo.
Addi loved the goats!

McKinley wasn't so sure about this emu.  It was just a bit too friendly for her.
They wanted to ride the coin-operated horse, so I let them sit on it.  And then as they rocked it back and forth a bit, it started going on it's own.
Addi was not too happy when it started moving since she was not sitting in the saddle and had a hard time keeping her seat!
One of the best parts of the day was when my silly kids decided this horse trailer would be a great place to play around in for awhile.  Check out the video for all their animal imitations.

This was a great little homemade rocking horse that operated on springs.  All the kids had fun riding it and a hard time taking turns on it.  Aaron had to pull Gideon off and take him away to something else so that the girls could get a turn.  McKinley is certain that daddy can make one just like it.
Gid finally succumbed to a much-needed nap, although it was not long enough.  I little storm came in and the wind and sprinkle of rain woke him right up.
My cute pioneer girls.
One of our last stops was at the church booth.  They had a fun covered wagon to sit.
We also had fun looking though the campers.  If they had bunkbeds in the back then they were "keepers" and if not then they were "bummers" according to McKinley.  And we had some yummy snacks - McKinley's favorite: cinnamon roll, my favorite: tiger ears, and Aaron's favorite: deep fried cheese curds!  The kids also loved all the free stuff and collected everything they could.
As always it was a great day at the fair.  I was for sure ready for bed when we got home!

We faired it up this year too and did all the things you did. My legs felt like they were going to fall off by the time we were done. If Aaron does figure out how to make one of those, he can probably make two and send one our way.
I love that the girls are wearing their indian headbands on the horse. Perfect!
