Hamiltons hosted our Fuhriman Family Reunion this year in Salt Lake. It was a great, fun-filled weekend!
We headed down thursday morning (our first trip in our new van!) and met up at Brad's cabin near Park City. We had fun playing at the cabin, riding 4-wheelers and just enjoying being in the beautiful mountains. We roasted hot dogs for dinner and s'mores for dessert of course! Then Corri told us a bit about our pioneer heritage with some stories about the Tanner line.
Friday we enjoyed yummy sausage and egg sandwiches for breakfast thanks to Reid and Rachel. Then we headed to a local pool for the afternoon.
That's McKinley in the water just out of the slide. She was barely tall enough to be able to have some fun on these great water slides!
Addi was content to stay in the kiddie area and slide down the froggie-tongue slide.
Everyone had a good time swimming and it was a great way to cool off in the hot weather!
G&G even got in to swim and the grandkids loved having them to play with in the pool!
In this picture are in back: Addi, Carolina, Grandma, Grandpa, Julia, Uncle Ben, and in front: Andrew, Alex, and Aunt Holli.
Gid is a little fish with no fear of the water. He especially loved playing in the spraying fountains and swimming around with Daddy!
Brad and Corri grilled/dutch ovened a great dinner that night while the kids enjoyed playing in the bouncy toy tunnel Aaron set up in their yard (thanks to Uncle Robert for letting us borrow it!)
Saturday we headed to Hogle Zoo early and put in a full day there!
The kids always love riding on the "animals".
Gid is looking at a monkey here and saying "Eee Eee". He really loved seeing all the animals. He got so excited to see the elephants that while trying to climb up the fence for a better look, his shoe fell off and down into the elephant area! He was so upset! He looked down for it and then at his bare foot and just pointed and cried. He didn't settle down for almost an hour when he finally agreed to put on some other shoes. Thankfully the nice zoo keepers were able to retrieve his shoe eventually, and we picked it up on our way out later that day.
My three beautiful kids!
The girls had fun playing African instruments while we waited for the elephant show to begin. We also watched the bird show which was great!
The giraffes are always a favorite of mine.
A bunch of cousins! Mitch, James, Addi, Savanna, McK, Alex, Sarah, and Emily!
A new addition to the zoo since we last visited is the carousal, featuring zoo animals instead of horses. Addi ran straight to the lion and Gid was happy with the monkey next to it, while McKinley found a beautiful zebra.
Gid didn't last to ride on the zoo train. Poor little guy was exhausted, so I sat with him while everyone else "choo-chooed" through the zoo.
After the train ride, our last stop at the zoo was the fun playground.
An elephant slide and snake slide!
McKinley wanted specific photos at all the fun spots! We couldn't leave until we had them all!
We spent the evening at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Claudia's. They were so kind to invite us all over for a backyard bbq which was moved indoors for a while when a rain/hail storm suddenly hit, soaking a few of us before we could escape to shelter! It was so great to catch up with them and three of their four kids who were there.
We had a slow Sunday morning, sleeping in and enjoying the motel breakfast and then we headed home.
It was fun staying at a motel since we almost never get to do that! The first night, coming back from Brad's cabin, all 3 kids fell asleep on the drive and we carried them into their beds. Little Addi Mae woke up in the middle of the night and calmly asked "Where am I? Where am I?" What a cutie she is!
Overall a great weekend with family!
